Raise your hand if you've ever fallen victim to a #proven marketing strategy? ππ½ππ½ππ½
Look, trying to find marketing advice on Google is like trying to fish dimes out of a bowl of mashed potatoes.
Plus, there are a lot of over the top kind of marketers out who offer pie-in-the-sky results with so-their systems.
We've all seen them:
"Get an avalanche of raving fans!"
"Get 5,000 followers in three days!"
"Find your passion, start a business, lose 20 pounds, make millions, and meet Oprah!"
Here's how I feel when I read those:
1. Ouch!
It makes me think of the time I got caught in the mosh pit at a Black Flag concert in college, which was not fun.
2. Crap!
You may get 5,000 fans in three days but chances are they are going to be crap quality.
3. Also crap!
I mean, c'mon. Let's be at least a little real.
And it's easy to get seduced by the promise of amazing results...and meeting Oprah. And you may have tried out a few of the offers out there. I know I have.
Often, those over the top systems don't produce the results they promise.
The problem? Marketing isn't a one-size-fits-all kinda deal.
Marketing is a matter applying the laws of marketing to find the strategies and tactics that'll work for you and your business β not just cut and paste from someone else's system.
It's nuanced for sure.
But worth the effort to find what works for you so you can bypass a lot of overwhelm and heartache in your marketing.
I didn't write the laws of marketing, but I do help entrepreneurs navigate them so they can build a brand they love with core marketing that attracts the right people to their business.
